I Now Pronounce You Black and White

Here is a photo of Sylvia Ncediwe Mdunyelwa in 1991 with Laura. Since Sylvia’s visit to Vancouver she has appeared on South African television and in the 2010 comedy film, “I Now Pronounce You Black and White.”

Sylvia’s performance at the Standard Bank Jazz Festival in 1998 was recorded and later issued as African Diva, Live in Africa and in 1999 she got a contract with the label Blue note for a studio-CD Ingoma (Song). Sylvia Mdunyelwa is part of the South African jazz tradition and township jazz and has her own radio show ´Voice of Jazz´ on P4 Radio in Cape Town.

Sylvia is an actress on South African television and played role in a BBC Documentary about the life of Bishop Desmond Tutu.
