Research Visit in 2010 to General Chennault’s Command Post Cave at Old Yang Tang Airfield Guilin China

In the fall of 2010 when I was working in China for six weeks I was able to visit Guilin and tour the old Yang Tang Airfield site where the Flying Tigers were based in the 1940s. My contact at the Guilin City International Affairs Office assisted me with arrangements to the future site of the Historical Relics Park of the Flying Tigers of Guilin located west of the city between the Guilin Liangjiang International Airport and the town of Lingui and usually off limits to casual visitors. So I was fortunate to see it as it appeared for much of the past 60 years and here are some photos of General Chennault’s Cave and the Yang Tang Airfield site as it looked in November 2010.
